James Hamilton

Jim received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Illinois University.
Jim sees patients 17+ at the Promise Healthcare - Neil location.
His areas of clinical interest include Trauma-Informed Care, LGBTQ+ Culture Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness Practice.
Jim has been a behavioral health provider for over 20 years. He finds value in his work by providing access to care for underserved populations. He encourages all his patients by letting them know that change is possible.
Jim is married and has one adult son and two rescue cats. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, traveling, Chicago and Illinois sports.
He also volunteers with Community Equity and Diversity, programs that improve access to social services.

Ray Bement
MA, LCSW
Assistant Director of Behavioral Health
Ray Bement did his undergraduate
studies at the University of Illinois.
Ray also has two Master's degrees. He has a Masters MA (Human Effectiveness) from DePaul, Chicago, and a Masters of Social Work MSW (Social Work) from the University of Illinois.
Ray is dedicated to building positive relationships with clients and staying current with the latest research and best practices to provide the highest level of care. He specializes in working with individuals and families going through life transitions and dealing with the stressors and challenges of living and growing in today's ever-changing world. His goal is to assist individuals and families in finding peace within themselves and their current environments.
His training encompasses multiple therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Art & Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).
Ray has over 20 years of experience working with individuals of all ages to support them in meeting their therapeutic goals. He enjoys working with clients to help them address issues associated with anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, ADHD, and other spectrum disorders.
Ray enjoys junking, found art, and outsider art, and is a foodie. Ray is passionate about peace. He is a die-hard Chicago fan, a lifelong Illini fan and he loves, sourdough bread and dogs.

Feiteng Su

Psychiatrist
Dr. Su attended Second Military Medical School in Shanghai, P. R. China, and Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He completed his residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago and has been a provider for over 20 years.
Dr. Su sees patients 18+ at the Promise Healthcare - Neil location.
Dr. Su specializes in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. He is excited to help people regain control of their lives.
He encourages patients to follow medical advice, keep appointments, take medications, and actively participate in their journey. He wants patients to know he is here to help whenever needed.
Dr. Su is very family-oriented. He is married with two adult children. In his free time, he enjoys shopping, exercising, and collecting stamps and coins.
He likes to serve the community by supporting the Community Resource Center.

Tiffany Johnson-Bey

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Tiffany completed her education at Walden University and is excited to begin her career with Promise Healthcare as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
Tiffany sees patients six and up at our Promise Healthcare Frances Nelson Clinic and is a dedicated mental health professional who is committed to helping others improve their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. She strongly encourages her patients to prioritize their health by getting regular check-ups, exercising, and maintaining a healthy diet, while avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
Tiffany firmly believes that these choices can have a positive impact on overall health.
In her free time, Tiffany enjoys traveling and exploring nature. She is also passionate about supporting youth programs and believes that positive mentors are essential for the well-being of young people.
Despite being a mother of seven children, two grandchildren, and a dog, Tiffany was able to successfully juggle her family responsibilities with her education. She completed each of her degrees on time without taking any breaks.

Jessica Mandrell

Jessica received her education from Richland Community College, Indiana Wesleyan, and Walden University. She has worked in healthcare for over fifteen years.
Jessica sees patients 5 & up at the Promise Healthcare-Neil location.
Jessica is passionate about learning about each patient and providing personal, individualized, holistic care. Working together with the patient, Jessica believes they can collaboratively set treatment goals and support growth toward attaining improved mental health and greater quality of life.
During her free time, Jessica loves practicing yoga, reading, hiking, exploring museums, watching true crime documentaries, and playing with her kids. “We love going to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth.”
A fun fact about Jessica is that she went to Australia during her undergrad education for an International Scholars Program, where she learned about women's healthcare services and the universal healthcare program—and went skydiving!

Phelicia Puryear
MSW, LSW
Mental Health Counselor
Phelicia sees patients five and up at Promise Healthcare -Neil on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays and Promise Healthcare—Rantoul on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Phelicia completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Southern Illinois University and then her master’s degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Phelicia also spent time as an intern at the STRIDES shelter in Champaign.
Phelicia is very passionate about mental health.
She is incredibly passionate about assisting in the destigmatization of mental health in our minority communities. This will help encourage patients to seek treatment.
Phelicia has been in the mental health field for 11 years but is a new therapy provider. She believes there needs to be a holistic approach to healthcare, treating the mind, body, and soul.
Phelicia has two children and a one-year-old pit bull puppy.
She enjoys Marvel movies, reading, watching crime and medical TV, spending time with her children, and working in some self-care time when possible.
She is very passionate about activities and programming
that encourage positive influences on the youth, i.e., Boy Scouts, youth sports (First String), etc.

Eric Batsie

Eric received his Master of Social Work from the University
of Illinois and his Masters in Public Administration from Indiana University. He is also a Nationally Rostered Child Parent Psychotherapist.
Eric will see patients at Promise Healthcare-Urbana on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays and at Promise Healthcare-Frances Nelson on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
With over 30 years of experience working with children and families, Eric remains focused on trauma. The effect trauma has on children, parents, and the community. He remains committed to helping youth overcome and process trauma so that they may realize a greater potential. Enabling the family to function cohesively and enact better communication and insight.
Eric wants patients to know that one bad decision or a good decision will not break the mold. If they made a poor choice, that's okay; tomorrow is another day; make a better decision. If they made a good decision, that's great; now, let's talk about making that a pattern. That will be change!
Eric spent 8 years in the U.S. Army and enjoys mentoring veterans. Eric is fluent in Russian and can speak some French, German, and Spanish. An interesting fact about Eric is that he has wrestled a lion.
He is an unashamed bibliophile with over 80,000 books, and he can still be found in area bookstores, finding new treasures.

Mary Ann Poynter

Mary Ann received her BA in Psychology at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She received her MA in Psychology at Ball State University and her MBA in Business Administration at Illinois State University.
Mary Ann sees patients at Promise Healthcare - Frances Nelson
She has 20+ years’ experience in child welfare and over 3 in mental healthcare. Mary Ann has had many trainings in her areas of clinical interest: child abuse/neglect, domestic violence, sexual abuse, substance abuse, depression/anxiety, grief/loss, aging issues related to isolation, loneliness, personality disorders, and marital/family therapy.
She is very passionate about helping people transition through stages of life. Mary Ann is vastly interested in incorporating mindfulness and self-care into her practice, as well communication and social skill development. She believes people need to understand the meaning and effects of their mental health holistically on their mind, body, and soul.
Mary Ann believes every patient should stay in the moment. So many patients worry and focus their thoughts on future events or events that are out of their control. Being mindful is not what only provides mental health benefits but also life and physical health benefits.
She will provide educational materials, emotional support, therapeutic guidance, and teach coping skills while helping you through the challenges and difficulties of your life.
In her free time Mary Ann enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Madi and Holly. Madi is a Golden Retriever, and Holly is a Treeing Walker Coon Hound. She also likes to travel and experience different cultures. She enjoys dining out, maintaining her friendships and attending movies and theatre.
